It’s not the best time to be a Disney Parks Cast Member lately, and the news has just gotten a little worse for them. Disney has started to send out emails to WDW and Disneyland Cast Members who have no been called back yet. They have been notified that they will remain on furlough until further notice. The email notes that these are “difficult and uncertain times” and that while the initial estimates from Disney did not anticipate the closure of more than six months, the email says that “business circumstances that [Disney] could not have anticipated” will likely push the closure to more than 6 months.

Disney also stated in the email they “hope that our businesses will be back up and running and that your furlough will remain temporary”. There may be a glimmer of hope for the future of Disneyland. It was just announced that Orange County California has been moved off of the COVID watch list. No one really knows what that might mean but we are all keeping our fingers crossed that we can possibly return to some sign of normal.
