Filming for the upcoming Star Wars prequel series Andor has been completed for nearly a month now but, even though most of the casting has been revealed to the public, you can always count on Disney to sneak in some great little surprises à la Luke Skywalker in the season 2 final of The Mandalorian.
According to a new rumor from the site MakingStarWars.net, there might be one actor that is appearing in Andor that most might not expect to see.
Sources close to the site indicate that Andy Serkis may have been secretly cast in the series!
Should that source – and this rumor – be correct, that could mean one of two things: Either Serkis’ Supreme Leader Snoke is going to show up and fans are finally going to get some additional answers about his origins, or Serkis will be playing a brand new character altogether. After all, the man has proven that he’s a multifaceted actor, even without the CG dots on his face. Does anyone else remember when he played King Kong and one of the crew-mates aboard the SS Venture in Peter Jackson’s King Kong?
While we already know that the series will take place so far before Rogue One that K-2SO might not appear, should the news be true true, it’ll be interesting to see where Serkis’ character might fit into the scope of the series.
As always, because this is a rumor we urge readers to take this news with a grain of salt. The only way to truly know if Serkis is in the series at this point is to wait until it drops on Disney+
Now, not much else is known Andor; however, it’s also believed that another familiar face from the Star Wars universe will make an appearance.
In addition to Diego Luna, the series will star Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Genevieve O’Rielly reprising her role as Mon Mothma.
As of right now Andor slated to drop on Disney+ in July of 2022.
