Original Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi, has finally seen Spider-Man: No Way Home, which features four of his original actors/characters, Willem Dafoe’s Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, Thomas Hayden Chuch’s Sandman, and yes, Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
While speaking with Variety, Sam Raimi revealed he has seen the movie and quite enjoyed it saying, “It was so much fun,” Raimi said. “I love ‘No Way Home’ and the audience I was with went crazy. It was delightful to watch Alfred play his role, and Willem Dafoe, just seeing these guys take it to the next level. And Tobey was awesome as always. The best word I can say is it was refreshing for me.”
Raimi also shared a brief update on his Marvel Studios project Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which recently completed six weeks of significant reshoots. Raimi believes they are done at this point but testing will remain a factor, “I wish I knew the answer to that question,” Raimi said, responding to the question of whether the movie was complete. “I think we’re done, but we just cut everything. We’re just starting to test the picture and we’ll find out if there’s anything that’s got to be picked up. If something’s unclear or another improvement I can make in this short amount of time left, I’ll do it. One thing I know about the Marvel team is they won’t stop. They’ll keep pushing it until it’s as close to being great as it could.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2022. If Marvel Studios wants to keep that release date then hopefully the reshoots were necessary. If test screenings happen and sway the studio to do more work then a release date shift could happen, which I don’t believe will be the case. Test screenings are expected to begin shortly, so here’s hoping it wows those in attendance.
The door of the multiverse, full of mystery and madness, opens. Now that Iron Man and Captain America have left after a fierce battle in Avengers: Endgame, former genius surgeon and the strongest magician of them all, Doctor Strange, is expected to play an active role as a central figure in the Avengers. However, using his magic to manipulate time and space at will with a forbidden spell that is considered the most dangerous has opened the door to a mysterious madness called “the Multiverse.” To restore a world where everything is changing, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers’ most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda. But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange.
The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlberg, Adam Hugill, Yenifer Molina, Bruce Campbell, Laura Dern, and Victoria Stirling.
