According to The Hollywood Reporter, legendary comedic actor Christopher Lloyd has just joined the cast The Mandalorian and will appear in the upcoming third season.
Character details are being kept close to the vest, but it will more than likely be a guest role.
Lloyd is most known as Doc Brown in the Back to the Future franchise. He’s also appeared in classic films such as Clue, The Addams Family, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Despite disappearing from the limelight in recent years, Lloyd has not stopped acting. Just last year, he starred in the John Wick-esque action comedy Nobody alongside Bob Odenkirk.

Season three of The Mandalorian is currently filming in New Mexico until the end of March when it is expected to wrap just before filming begins on Ahsoka at the beginning of April. Filming for the season began by October 13, 2021, filming under the working title Buccaneer. Details on the third season are being kept under wraps.
We do know, however, that production has been moving forward on the series without star Pedro Pascal as he is currently finishing up shooting the HBO Max series The Last of Us, based on the popular video game franchise. Pascal is expected to do voice work in ADR. The series is expected to return to Disney+ in late 2022/early 2023.
