Actor and Comedian Gilbert Gottfried Passes Away At 67

We at The DisInsider are sad to report yet another tragic loss this year.

Actor and Comedian Gilbert Gottfriend has sadly passed away at the age of 67.

His family posted the official announcement of his death on his Twitter account this afternoon.

According to his family, Gottfried was struggling with an unspecified illness for quite a long time.

Gottfried passes away a little over three months after the death of another one of his close comedian friends, Bob Saget. In this interview with NYC radio station 1010 WINS not too long after Saget’s passing, he discusses relationship with comedian as he grapples with grief himself.

Most known for his trademark voice, the comedian had countless roles over the course of his long, distinguished career. One of his most notorious roles is that of Jaffar’s sidekick bird Iago in Disney’s animated classic Aladdin.
