Earlier today, Epic Games announced that Obi-Wan Kenobi would be the latest franchise character to be joining its popular Battle Royale game, Fortnite. This, ahead of the limited series’ premiere on Disney+ Friday.
Beginning Thursday, May 26th at 8PM EST, an offical Obi-Wan Kenobi skin will available in the game’s item shop alongside an Obi-Wan Kenobi-themed back bling, pickaxe, glider, and more. However, players have a chance to win the skin in-game this weekend by participating in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Cup.
This Sunday, May 22nd, players who compete in a special Battle Royale Duos tournament and rank high enough will win both the Obi-Wan Kenobi outfit as well as the accompanying back bling early and for free!
Competitors will only have up to 10 matches, with a three-hour window, to gain enough points to win the items. While each elimination will equal one point, where you place will earn you even more points. The rubric for scoring points are below:

Now, this isn’t the first Star Wars skin to be added to the game. Currently you can play as an Imperial Stormtrooper, Kylo Ren, Rey, Boba Fett, and more. In fact, all month long, every other playable Star Wars skin has been available for purchase in honor of both Star Wars Day and the upcoming release of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Fortnite is currently playable on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PlayStation 4 Slim, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, Xbox One Series X|S, the Nintendo Switch, and the Nintendo Switch Lite.

Set to take place decades between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, plot details are currently being kept close to the vest. One thing is certain though. During 2020’s Disney Investor Day, Kathleen Kennedy promised “the rematch of the century” between Kenobi and Vader.
Deborah Chow, who helmed several episodes of the first season of The Mandalorian, will both produce and direct the entire 6-episode series.
In addition to having Ewan McGregor reprise his role as the titular Jedi for the series, Hayden Christensen will return to play Darth Vader too. As you can tell by the trailer Joel Edgarton will reprise his role as Luke Skywalker’s Uncle Owen in the series. Jimmy Smits and Bonnie Piesse will appear in their original roles from the franchise too.
Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit) And Rupert Friend (Homeland) lead the remaining supporting cast as the franchise’s first live-action Inquisitors. Friend appears to playing The Grand Inquisitor in the series.
The rest of the cast consists of Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Sung Kang (Fast and Furious franchise), Simone Kessell (Terra Nova), Benny Safdie (Pieces of a Woman), and Maya Erskine (Pen15).
