The Mighty Thor Coming to Avengers Campus

Just in time for Thor: Love and Thunder, in theaters now, Avengers Campus will have a new Thor greeting guests as they visit the Disneyland Resort.

The Disney Parks Blog revealed today that Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor will roam the grounds of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure park, encountering recruits and occasionally challenging others to test their worthiness with Mjolnir. The blog also shared some new merch and experiences to celebrate Love and Thunder.

The Mighty Thor’s arrival at Avengers Campus continues the trend of new meet-and-greet characters as new series’ episodes and films from Marvel Studios debut. Last month saw the arrival Kamala Khan from Ms. Marvel as well as Scarlet Witch and America Chavez for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Moon Knight, Mr. Knight, Loki, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos from the Eternals, have all been recent debuts as well. Recently it was revealed that the resort is casting performers for Wong, who will likely make his debut around the time She-Hulk is released next month.

Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Also set to appear is Christian Bale as the villainous Gorr the God Butcher, as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, and Vin Diesel. Russell Crowe will also briefly appear as Zeus, as seen in the trailer. Directed by Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum.
