Emilia Clarke’s role in Secret Invasion has been a massive mystery since she first boarded the project. While multiple fan theories and rumors have surfaced throughout the show’s production, prominent industry insider Daniel RPK seems to have finally decoded her character.
According to RPK, Clarke is indeed playing a Skrull. More specifically, she’s playing a Skrull named Gi’ah.
If the name doesn’t sound too familiar, it’s because the character is relatively new in the comics, having been introduced in a 2019 limited run titled Meet the Skrulls. Interestingly enough, in that series Gi’ah is married to a Skrull named Klrr, who Murphy’s Multiverse previously theorized that Kingsley Ben-Adir could be playing in the series.
Obviously, we won’t know for sure until the series drops, so we urge you to take this news with a grain of salt. If this is true though, it’s still not clear if Clarke’s character will be a friend or foe. Because the entire Secret Invasion storyline the series is based on consists of so much betrayal and distrust, we may really not know until the finale.

For those unfamiliar with the popular Secret Invasion crossover event in which the series will be based on, it chronicles the discovery that a secret sect of Skrulls plot to take over the world by slowly infiltrating, impersonating, and replacing people at every level of life on Earth including The Avengers.
As you might imagine, there will be paranoia over who is and isn’t a Skrull.
Currently, aside from Clarke and Ben-Adir, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Killian Scott, Olivia Colman, and Cobie Smulders will star. We expect some Avengers to appear though.
The series will premiere exclusively on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
