Disney Sets Release Dates For ‘Snow White,’ ‘Mufasa,’ ‘Inside Out 2,’ and Pushes Back ‘Haunted Mansion’

Disney has made some massive changes to its theatrical release schedule on Thursday. The moves follows Disney’s major movie panels at their D23 Expo this past weekend.

The live-action adaptation of Snow White, which stars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, is set for March 22, 2024. Three months later, Pixar’s surprise sequel Inside Out 2 will release on June 14, 2024. One month later, Mufasa: The Lion King, from director Barry Jenkins, is set for July 5, 2024.

The company also set dates for Disney Animation’s Wish on November 22, 2023, and Pixar’s Elio on March 1, 2024. Haunted Mansion also needs more time in post-production as the film will open on August 11, 2023, instead of March 10, 2023, and an untitled Marvel movie has been pushed from February 16, 2024, to its new home on September 6, 2024.

After months of speculation and questions, Disney officially removed the Patty Jenkins Star Wars movie Rogue Squadron from its December 22, 2023 release date. The delay is likely due to Jenkins’ schedule as she is prepping for Wonder Woman 3. There are also rumors that Jenkins is off the project and that it has been scrapped entirely but that has yet to be confirmed by the studio.
