‘Ironheart’ Adds ‘Pulp Fiction’ Star To Its Roster

At this point it feels like the cast of Ironheart keeps growing everyday.

While some of us are still trying to process whether or not Sacha Baron Cohen is going to appear in the series as Mephisto, actor Paul Calderón has become the latest person to join the Marvel Studios project.

Of the dozens of acting credits Calderón has to his name, most might recognize him for his work in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, Amazon’s Bosch, or AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead.

At this point it’s unclear who the actor will be playing in the show.

Deadline was the first to report on his casting.

Ironheart, revolves around Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne) as a teenage engineering genius at MIT who builds a suit based on Tony Stark’s Iron Man and dons the superhero name Ironheart. The character was created in 2016 by writers Brian Michael Bendis, and artist Mike Deodato, and later redesigned by Eve Ewing and Kevin Libranda.

Other actors attached besides include Anthony Ramos and Jim Rash, as well as Manny Montana (Good Girls)Lyric Ross (This Is Us), Harper Anthony (Chicago Med), and Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story). There is also a possibility Sam Jackson could appear as Nick Fury.

Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes are directing Ironheart from a script by Chinaka Hodge (Amazing Stories), who also serves as the head writer on the six-episode first season. Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler have also joined the team as executive producers alongside Kevin Feige, Louise D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout.

The character will make her official MCU in the highly anticipated sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which is set to hit theaters on November 11, 2022.

The series, which is set to debut sometime in 2023, but Riri and her tech will make their MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which hit theaters this November.
