This year, Disney’s CinemaCon panel was filled with plenty of surprises for attendees. One of those surprises came in the form of Kevin Feige appearing on stage to discuss Marvel Studios’ upcoming slate.

At the very beginning of his presentation, Feige shared a sneak peak at Marvel’s next big project after this Summer’s Deadpool & Wolverine.

According to multiple reports from attendees, the footage introduced Harrison Ford’s President Thunderbolt Ross to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. In the brief clip, Ross asks Wilson for his help in rebuilding the Avengers. Wilson is interested, however, he audibly wonders what happens if they disagree on the new team and how to manage.

In the next scene, Ford is delivering a speech to a crowd of uniformed officials. Soon after, something happens to some of the people in the crowd. They seem possessed. Among the crowd is Carl Lumbly’s Isaiah Bradley. He joins forces with Ford to fight them off.

Sadly, that was all that was shown at the panel, but it was certainly enough to get us excited.

The film is directed by Julius Onah, who co-wrote the script with Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, and stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America alongside Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Harrison Ford, and Liv Tyler.

Brave New World had the potential by October 2023 to return to its May 2024 release date, as it was further along in production than Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3, which was not expected to complete filming in time for that release due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. However, this move was considered to be a long shot. Following the strike’s conclusion in November, Brave New World‘s release was delayed to February 14, 2025.
