Just last week at CinemaCon, Kevin Feige teased the return of Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, the ridiculousness of Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, and the long-awaited debut of Marvel’s first family. However, with so much happening at Marvel Studios and in the MCU right now, it’s easy to forget that we’re due for another Spider-Man film.

While joint-owner Sony has also been laying low following the disastrous turnout of Madame Web, a new rumor suggests that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker could make his triumphant return to the big screen a lot sooner than we all expect.

According to industry insider Daniel RPK, the (currently untitled) fourth Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland is set to begin production in late September. This corroborates a similar statement made by Jeff Schneider, who claimed that the film was eyeing a potential 2025 release date.

Now, despite what Marvel/Sony have planned, the film is still without a director. And in his latest Patreon post, RPK states that is aware of a potential offer out to someone, but he does not know the name.

Now, because all of this info has yet to be confirmed by Disney, Marvel, or any of the major trades, as always, we urge you to take it with a grain of salt. Considering RPK’s track record, however, we are inclined to believe that it might be true.

With both SDCC and D23 right around the corner, we’re sure we’ll get an update on the new future of the MCU soon. Until then, we’ll just have to wait.
