Earlier today, concept art was unveiled for a brand new character being introduced in Inside Out 2 named Bloofy.

Now, last week after CinemaCon, we reported that Ronald Funches would be playing a 2D character named “Roofy.” But it appears that the name got lost in translation. According to SlashFilm, Ronald Funches will indeed be playing Bloofy.

The character is described as a character from Riley’s favorite childhood TV show, who “asks questions to a non-existent child audience” throughout the entire film.

While we have no indication of how big his role will be in the film, we’re inclined to believe he’ll be this film’s version of Bing Bong.

Set a few years after the first film, this entry follows several new emotions that surface in Riley’s mind during her teenage years.

Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, and Phyllis Smith will all return to voice Joy, Anger, and Sadness respectively, but filling in for Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling are Tony Hale and Liza Lapira as Fear and Disgust!

Newcomers to the cast include Maya Hawke as Anxiety, the previously announced new arrival bound to shake up everything in headquarters and beyond. A bundle of frazzled energy, Anxiety enthusiastically ensures Riley’s prepared for every possible negative outcome.

Ayo Edebiri also joins the cast as Envy! She’s perpetually jealous of everything everyone else has, and she’s not afraid to pine over it.

Ennui, who’s voiced by Adèle Exarchopoulos, will also join the gang. She’s described as “bored and lethargic with a well-practiced eye-roll.” Ennui will reportedly add the perfect amount of teenage apathy to Riley’s personality, when she feels like it.

One of the other emotions joining the roster is Embarrassment, voiced by Paul Walter Hauser. He likes to lay low, which isn’t easy for this burly guy with a bright blush-pink complexion.

Inside Out 2 releases only in theaters June 14, 2024.
