2024 looks to be a big year for Star Wars with with The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew. While we have received our first trailer for The Acolyte, Skeleton Crew has somewhat remained a mystery, but at least we now know when to expect it.
During Collider‘s Directors on Directing panel at CCXP, director Jon watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) revealed that his next directorial effort Skeleton Crew will arrive on Disney+ this Christmas season.
The series follows four children who end up on an adventure to make their way home after being lost in the galaxy following a discovery they make on their home planet. The coming of age series takes place in the same time frame as the series The Mandalorian and its interconnected spin-offs after the events of the film Return of the Jedi (1983).
Jude Law stars in the series with Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Robert Timothy Smith, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Jaleel White.
Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Everything Everywhere All at Once), David Lowery (Peter Pan & Wendy), Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts*), Bryce Dallas Howard (The Mandalorian), and Lee Isaac Chung (Twisters) also direct episodes from a script by Christopher Ford, Myung Joh Wesner.
Skeleton Crew is scheduled to be released on Disney+ in 2024, and will consist of eight episodes.
