Paul Bettany’s popular MCU character, Vision, will headline the studio’s first new series order in a while.

According to Variety, The currently untitled show is slated for a 2026 premiere on Disney+, with Terry Matalas from Star Trek: Picard set to be the showrunner. The writers’ room for the series has just started this week.

Paul Bettany will return as Vision, a role he has played in three Marvel films and the WandaVision series, in addition to voicing Jarvis, Tony Stark’s AI, in the three Iron Man movies. At the conclusion of WandaVision, Vision is resurrected with a new, all-white form and without his past memories. These memories are eventually restored by the spectral Vision, created by Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) to cope with her grief, during her enchantment of the town of Westview, New Jersey.

The Vision series will be the second spinoff from WandaVision. The first spinoff, Agatha All Along, features Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, Wanda’s neighbor and fellow witch in Westview, and is scheduled to premiere in September.

Matalas best known for co-creating and showrunning 12 Monkeys (2015–2018), which ran for four seasons on SyFy. He was a showrunner on the fourth season of MacGyver for CBS (2020), and the second and third seasons of Star Trek: Picard on Paramount+.
