‘Moana 2’ is Disney’s Most Viewed Animated Movie Trailer of All-Time

It has been 5 years since Walt Disney Animation Studios has had a box office success and Moana 2 is looking to break the slump.

Wednesday’s trailer for the sequel has become the most-watched ever for an animated movie, clocking 178M views in 24 hours. The record beats Pixar’s Inside Out 2 trailer which had 157M views. 2019’s Frozen II trailer had 116M views and the film would go on to become the highest-grossing animated film of all-time.

Views are solely from online across TikTok, YouTube, X, Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat.

After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced. Auli‘i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson return as Moana and demigod Maui.

Directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand and Dana Ledoux Miller, and produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino, Moana 2 features music by Grammy® winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foaʻi, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.
