James Spader To Reprise Role Of Ultron In Marvel’s New ‘Vision’ Series

It looks like there really are no strings on him after all…

In a surprising bit of news, it was revealed that James Spader has been tapped to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

And he’s coming back as Ultron too!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the iconic Emmy-winning actor will reprise his role as Ultron in Marvel Studios’ upcoming (and untitled) series centered on Vision.

The series is the second planned sequel to 2021’s WandaVision, after the upcoming Agatha All Along.

This marks the second actor to join the project after Paul Bettany, who will return to star.

For those who don’t remember, Ultron is technically the father of Vision in the franchise. He originally created him with the intent to use him as a body. That is, until the Avengers intervened. It should be interesting to see how the character returns and what the relationship will be this time around.

Terry Matalas, who previously helmed Star Trek: Picard, is tackling this series. We anticipate more updates in the near future, as production ramps up for a potential late 2025 or early 2026 release.
