The web is spinning – in terms of production on Sony and Marvel’s next Spider-Man film AND the rumors that keep spewing out from scoopers online.
While the next film already features a stacked cast, one new report from a reliable source claims that at least one more big name is set to join the ensemble.
According to industry insider Daniel RPK, Florence Pugh is set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
She’ll obviously be playing Yelena Bolova. This will mark Pugh’s latest appearance following Thunderbolts* (or The New Avengers). It’ll also mark her fifth appearance in the MCU overall since her debut in Black Widow.

Now, details about Pugh’s appearance are slim. It’s unclear if she’ll simply appear as a cameo or as a new ally as Spider-Man potentially fights off other villains from his gallery of rogues. Although it has yet to be confirmed by major trades (like this latest report), we are inclined to believe it is true due to RPK’s strong track record in the past.
Considering where Thunderbolts* left off, Pugh’s appearance makes sense. That is, if it’s used to bridge the gap between The New Avengers, Spider-Man and the events of Avengers: Doomsday.

No plot details as of yet but Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man along with Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ and Ned, plus some new actors joining the film including Netflix’s Stranger Things and Tony nominee actress Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo’s The Hulk and FX’s The Bear star and Emmy winner Liza Colon-Zayas.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will began filming this Summer in London and set with release date of July 31, 2026 being directed Destin Daniel Cretton and co-produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal.
