Believe it or not, The Muppets have never been on Broadway. That’s despite starring in several stage shows at Disney theme parks – and literally having a movie called The Muppets Take Manhattan. But this fall, that’s about to change.
The popular group of furry misfits is headed to New York’s “The Great White Way” for the very first time. But they won’t be alone. Joining them will be Magician Rob Lake, who is most known for his appearances on America’s Got Talent.
Both Lake and Kermit made the official announcement in a video uploaded to YouTube yesterday. In the brief skit, Lake teases a one-of-a-kind show with never-before-seen magic tricks. And Kermit teases appearances from some of his friends like Ms. Piggy.
“I’ve been performing magic my entire life, and it has always been my greatest dream to perform my show on Broadway,” Lake said in a statement. “Like so many people around the world, I grew up with The Muppets. To work with them and create new illusions for them to appear in my show has been the most rewarding and surprisingly familiar moment. It’s like I have known them my entire life.”
The show will have a limited holiday run from October 28, 2025 through January 18, 2026.
