Wyatt Russell Joins ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’

During the Disney+ panel for Marvel Studios’ Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, and news just dropped that Wyatt Russell has joined the cast.

Russell the son of Kurt Russell will play John Walker aka U.S. Agent, a villainous form of Captain America.

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are reprising their roles as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. The two appeared onstage together during the panel.

John Wick creator Derek Kolstad joined the writing/creative team for the series, though details are still under wraps, but it seems likely to follow up on Falcon’s new status quo after Avengers: Endgame.

Emily VanCamp is also officially to return, VanCamp originated the role of Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier before reprising her part in Civil War. Daniel Bruhl will also return as Baron Zemo.

All six episodes of the miniseries, which will air in August 2020, could reportedly be directed by Emmy nominee Kari Skogland (The Handmaids Tale, The Punisher), with Malcolm Spellman (Empire) writing.
