D23 has just announced much more than a logo for Disney Animation Studios’ new film ‘Raya and The Last Dragon.’
Inspired by the diverse cultures of South East Asia, Raya and The Last Dragon will feature creative works and a fantastic imagination inspired by the region.
A combination of classic Disney and Kung-Fu movies, the film is set in a mysterious land called Kumandra. The region is split into five sections and Raya is a warrior on the search for the last dragon in the world. Is this appearing to be a Disney’s Game of Thrones?
Joining the cast so far will be Cassie Steele (Degrassi) as Raya and Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians) as the dragon!

Dean Wellins and Paul Briggs (Big Hero 6, Princess and The Frog) will be developing the story releasing Thanksgiving 2020.
