Disneyland officials have confirmed to the OC Register that they’re canceling the 2020 Candlelight Processional that takes place annually at the resort.

Per the publication, the resort was unable commit to the months-long planning process required to hold the event due to the uncertainty regarding when the state of California will allow them to open the resort and theme parks and resume operations. This becomes the second holiday event cancelled, as the Oogie Boogie Bash was cancelled early last month.

It is unknown when Disneyland will reopen, however, recent reports have surfaced stating a September 28 reopen date is being considered, but that has yet to be confirmed. California Governor Gavin Newsom recently said “progress is being made” on plans to reopen theme parks. Newsom recently teased a Disneyland reopening announcement is imminent.

Disneyland has also begun to send out cancellation emails to guests with reservations through September 26, which falls on a Saturday, while the rumored reopening date falls on a Monday. So, we now wait for an official confirmation from the Disneyland Resort, but we are all eager for some good news during this rough year.
