Tune In To Celebrate WDW’s 50th With Harmonious and Enchantment

Can’t get to Florida? No matter. You can celebrate Walt Disney World’s golden anniversary virtually.

Firstly, this would-be traveler remains in semi lockdown for going on 18-months. So, that means there’s no chance for me to hit the glorious “confines” of the Walt Disney World Resort on its fiftieth anniversary.

Secondly, I would say that’s a bummer, but, in reality, it’s far from it.

My family remains healthy. My avocations and vocation are intact, and WDW will be there whenever it’s time to head south. However, that doesn’t mean that I’m not going to think about a place that I’ve written a whole lot about over the last few years. That means I will take a few minutes to celebrate Disney World‘s big 5-0 in the lead up to its big day.

Ring In the Anniversary

On Friday, Disney Parks Blog reported:

On Oct. 1, two new nighttime spectaculars – “Harmonious” and “Disney Enchantment” – will debut to help kick off our 50th-anniversary festivities during “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” at Walt Disney World Resort. And as a special early 50th surprise, we’re LIVE streaming performances of both ground-breaking shows right here on the Disney Parks Blog!

DisneyParksBlog.com also laid out the schedule.

  • Wed, 9/29 – LIVE: “Harmonious” at EPCOT at 9:00 p.m. ET.
  • Thurs, 9/30 – LIVE: “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom Park at 10:15 p.m. ET.

Moreover, those in person and those tuning in can expect a treat.

“[Harmonius], which is a key milestone in the transformation of EPCOT, pays tribute to the stories and songs that unite us all featuring new technical magic that includes special pyrotechnics, moving fountains, special lighting, and media,” explained Thomas Smith, editorial content director, Disney Parks.

Disney Enchantment

“In ‘Disney Enchantment,’ you’re inspired to believe in magic,” added DPB. “[That’s accomplished via] captivating Disney music, enhanced lighting, and immersive projection effects that extend – for the first time – from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.”

Meanwhile, check out a behind-the-scenes feature on “Disney Enchantment”:

Finally, we’ll see you on the couch on September 29.
