Shanghai Disneyland to Close From Monday

Tokyo Disney Resort will be the only Asian Disney Resort to remain open because Shanghai Disney Resort has announced that it will be closing indefinitely from Monday, 21st March.

China is currently battling its biggest wave of COVID-19 since the original Wuhan outbreak. According to CNBC, Shanghai has shut schools and has begun a city-wide testing program that has seen dozens of residential compounds sealed off for at least 48 hours.

Hong Kong Disneyland has been closed since January 7th 2022, and recently extended its closure to April 20th. At the time of writing, Mainland China reported 1,656 new locally transmitted cases on March 19th.

As for Shanghai Disney Resort, no reopening date has been set.
