In case you were wondering what’s next for DAVE star GaTa, according to Deadline, the rapper-turned-actor is developing a brand new animated series for Disney’s Onyx Collective.
For those who may not recall, Onyx Collective is a brand new banner from Disney for creators of color to produce content on Hulu. Questlove’s Oscar-winning documentary Summer of Soul was made under the banner, all but solidifying its importance and place in the industry.

GaTa revealed the news during a panel for Deadline Sunday. He said, “I’m working on this cartoon right now, it’s in development with Onyx Collective and it’s gonna be amazing, it’s called Ghetto Brilliance. I just want to say this bro, I’m really living my dreams bro.”
The project shares a title with his 2017 album of the same name, which chronicles his life growing up in south Los Angeles, California.
20th Television is producing alongside 3 Arts (Russian Doll, Space Force).
