Attention shifts to the next Disney+ Star Wars production….
It’s incredible that we “only” need to wait until August 31 to see the next chapter in the Star Wars saga – Andor. Moreover, given the positive reaction to the show’s teaser trailer, and the relative success of the Obi-Wan Kenobi mini-series, hype for Andor continues to build exponentially.
A Prequel to a Prequel

For those of you who have been hiding under an asteroid, Andor is a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The boilerplate from Disney+ states:

The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception, and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.
Empire Dishes
Beyond the boilerplate, we’ve already gleened much about the upcoming show.

First, Empire Online released a new photo (above) and explained the show’s scope.
Empire explained, “The Rogue One prequel series, telling the story of Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor and the rising Rebellion at the height of the Empire’s powers, is going to be a story that spans five years – the first year of which will be explored in the 12-episode first season, starting this August.
“The now-confirmed second season will also consist of 12 episodes, spanning the other four years and leaving off right where Rogue One begins.”
