The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to turn 15 years old. Over the span of 30 different films and shows, hundreds of Hollywood A-listers have taken turns to tell incredible action-packed stories. While it’s almost easier to name actors who haven’t been sucked into the world’s biggest franchise, week to week that list always seems to change.
The latest actor potentially joining the MCU? Ryan Gosling. This, according to industry insider Daniel RPK. He dropped the little tidbit of news on his Patreon account over the weekend.
Now, obviously because this info has not been confirmed by any major trade or Disney, as always we urge you to take this news with a grain of salt. But even if it is true, that does not necessarily mean Gosling is in.

The exact verbiage used in Daniel’s post is that “Gosling is in talks for a role.” Let’s not forget that, at one point, Ava DuVernay was also in talks to direct Black Panther. Sometimes these things happen. Sometimes they don’t. Gosling also happens to be one of the most in-demand star in Hollywood, so even if a deal is reached scheduling conflicts might not permit his involvement after all.
Regardless if the news is true or not, or whether it all works out in the end, the idea of Gosling joining the MCU is exciting. Could he be playing a hero or a villain? Or could he just be a recurring cameo (we’re looking at you Matt Damon). The possibilities are endless.
Funny enough, Gosling’s latest film The Gray Man is helmed by MCU veterans The Russo Bros. and stars the franchise’s first Captain America, Chris Evans. Could they have put in a good word for the actor? We’ll just have to wait and see.
If Gosling does join the MCU, who would you want to see him play? Sound off below!
