Haunted Mansion Bar Coming to Disney Treasure

Haunted Mansion is on Disney+ now, but The Walt Disney Company is continuing to expand the lore of the iconic attraction. Disney is bringing a Haunted Mansion bar to the Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s sixth vessel that will embark on its maiden voyage in late 2024.

Disney’s Haunted Mansion Parlor is described as an exciting addition to the Haunted Mansion universe, offering a fresh perspective on the lore. This new chapter delves into the narrative of a captain who ventured into the spectral realm after an ill-fated dinner with his fiancée. Although this sea captain is introduced as a novel character, it’s worth noting that several established figures in the Haunted Mansion mythos could potentially fit this role. In the attraction itself, a ghostly sea captain briefly makes an appearance, and at the Magic Kingdom and Tokyo Disneyland versions of the ride, a mariner’s portrait can be observed. Interestingly, the Mariner also plays a minor role in the 2023 Haunted Mansion film, haunting LaKeith Stanfield’s character Ben.

As per EW, the Disney Treasure bar draws its inspiration from the Disneyland rendition of the attraction, which first welcomed guests in the New Orleans Square section of the park back in 1966. Notably, the bar will incorporate the iconic purple wallpaper and the unmistakable “Donald Duck” chair. Moreover, it appears that the hitchhiking ghosts have finally found their way to the bar, as they will be visible in the backdrop. A musical arrangement, inspired by the attraction and composed by Shruti Kumar, will provide a haunting ambiance throughout the venue.

The Haunted Mansion Parlor promises to be a gathering place for “legendary characters from Haunted Mansion attractions at Disney Parks around the world.” These attractions can be found at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Tokyo Disneyland, with additional influences like Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris (opened in 1992) and Mystic Manor at Hong Kong Disneyland (which debuted in 2013). Disney has also confirmed its intention to introduce new characters to enrich the Haunted Mansion narrative.

For those seeking a thematic and immersive experience, the Haunted Mansion Parlor will offer a selection of specialty beverages. Disney has unveiled the Ghoulish Delight, Sympathetic Libations, and Signature Beverage in their initial announcement. Furthermore, Disney enthusiasts can find the recipes for these enchanting drinks on the official Disney website.
