‘Blade’ Removed From November 2025 Release and Replaced by ‘Predator: Badlands’

Marvel Studios’ long-in-development Blade has hit yet another rough patch. According to Deadline, Disney has removed Blade from its November 7, 2025 release and has put Predator: Badlands in its place.

The reboot of the iconic Marvel film, originally starring Wesley Snipes, was first revealed at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, with Oscar winner Mahershala Ali taking on the lead role. However, the production of Blade has faced significant delays, largely due to the global pandemic and industry-wide strikes.

The project saw two directors leave: Bassam Tariq, who was initially preparing for a fall 2022 production start, and later Yann Demange. Mia Goth, cast as the villain Lilith in the film, shared her thoughts on the setbacks during the world premiere of her A24 film MaXXXine. Speaking with Deadline’s Natalie Sitek, she expressed that Marvel is committed to delivering a quality film, stating, “They really care… That’s the sense I get from them, and it feels good.”

Additionally, Marvel has scheduled three untitled films for release on February 18, May 5, and November 10, 2028.
