We’re just about a month away from the release of Captain America: Brave New World. And surprisingly we have yet to get a good glimpse at Tim Blake Nelson’s character.
For those who may not remember, the actor played Samuel Sterns in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk and was last seen being exposed to Bruce Banner’s gamma radiation-infused blood. In one of the film’s final scenes, we see his head start to mutate and a sinister smile begin to form on his face.
In the comics, Sterns becomes one of the Hulk’s most iconic adversaries, The Leader. And this onscreen transformation seemed to suggest that the character would play a bigger role in the franchise. Unfortunately, it only ended up being a massive tease and giant unresolved plot point in the ever-growing MCU. That is, until it was revealed at D23 (two years ago) that he would finally be returning for the upcoming Captain America sequel.
Though the film’s marketing team has done a great job at keeping his latest look a secret, the Twitter (X) account @kepleravocado uploaded some high resolution photos of some new promo art featuring the character.

According to Marvel Studios, the official synopsis for the film is as follows:
After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.
The film is directed by Julius Onah, who co-wrote the script with Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. It stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America alongside Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Harrison Ford, Liv Tyler, and Giancarlo Esposito!
Captain America: Brave New World will hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
