Marvel Television has paused on development on not one planned Disney+ series, but THREE: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror Inc.
According to Deadline, all three series were already green-lit, and Disney still has every intention of making them. However, the studio wants to prioritize other characters and cinematic plots points first.
The decision is reportedly reflective of a new, more careful model for producing television that’s emerged at the studio. As Deadline points out, originally Marvel approached series development in much the same way it handled its features. That changed during the tumultuous production of Daredevil.
The studio will now bring on more creatives to develop the series before teasing it. This explains why we probably had little-to-no idea about two out of the three series mentioned in this article.

We’ve known about Marvel’s NOVA series for quite some time, but Marvel was mum on its planned Strange Academy and Terror Inc. series.
Strange Academy would have been an adaptation of the recent comic book series of the same name. Created by Skottie Young and artist Humberto Ramos, it centers on a New Orleans school founded by Doctor Strange to educate young individuals with magical abilities. Per Deadline, the show was expected to focus on Wong, portrayed by Benedict Wong, and his leadership of the school. At this time, it’s unclear who was attached to develop the show, which is why it probably got put on hold.
Terror, Inc. would have centered on the antihero by the name of Terror, who possesses the ability to incorporate the body parts of others into his own form, gaining their memories and abilities. Created by Dan Chichester, Margaret Clark, and Klaus Janson, the character first appeared under the name Shreck in St. George #2 in August 1988 before being reintroduced as Terror in the 1992 series. Similar to Strange Academy, there was also no word on who was involved with its development.
Next up on Marvel’s TV slate is Daredevil, which premieres exclusively on Disney+ on March 4th!
