Michael Giacchino seems to be having quite the busy year.

In addition to providing the music for the next iteration of Warner Bros.’ Batman, we previously reported that he was working on the music for the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, as well as potentially making his directorial debut over on Disney+.

Now, according to the site Film Music Reporter, the Academy Award-winning composer will also be providing the music for the highly anticipated Pixar film Lightyear.

Unfortunately, there isn’t any additional context or details about what seems to be the site’s scoop. Because of that, as always, we do urge you to take this news with a grain of salt until it has either been backed up by a major trade or Disney itself.

As you may remember, we exclusively reported Taika Waititi joined the cast late last year.

He joins the previously announced Chris Evans (Knives Out, Avengers: Endgame) who lends his voice to Buzz.

The sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy, introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.

Unlike Pixar’s other upcoming project, Turning Red, Lightyear is expected to be release in theaters nationwide on June 17, 2022.
