For fans in attendance at SDCC Marvel Studios is set to preview some of their animated series for Disney+ including X-Men ’97, Marvel Zombies, and season 2 of What If…?.
On Friday, July 22, Marvel Studios head of streaming, television, and animation Brad Winderbaum; head of visual development Ryan Meinerding; and special guests dive into all things animation with exclusive looks at X-Men 97, Marvel Zombies, What If…? season 2, and more.
What is more? Marvel Studios is also developing Spider-Man: Freshman Year, an animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots. It is also likely new Disney+ series’ announcements could come from the panel, but of course, we will have to wait until July 22 to find out.
X-Men ’97 is a revival/sequel of the 1992 animated series X-Men: The Animated Series, and the plot will continue where the original series left off. In Marvel Zombies, Marvel Studios reimagines the Marvel Universe as a new generation of heroes battle against an ever-spreading zombie scourge. After enlisting the Guardians of the Multiverse to stop Infinity Ultron, The Watcher returns in Season 2 of What If…? to meet new heroes and explore more strange new worlds in the MCU’s ever-expanding Multiverse.
