Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’ Has Finally Found Its Galactus

It’s been a very busy few weeks at Marvel Studios. Since CinemaCon, we’ve seen a slew of behind-the-scenes leaks from Captain America: Brave New World. Deadpool & Wolverine has also begun reshoots. On top of that we’re getting quite consistent updates on the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.

Earlier today, it was revealed that John Malkovich had joined the project in an undisclosed role. Now, The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that character actor Ralph Ineson has been cast as the film’s main antagonist Galactus.

Ineson is no stranger to Disney having just starred in 20th Century’s Omen prequel, The First Omen, last month and The Creator last year. Other previous acting credits include Ready Player One, Game of Thrones and The VVitch.

Now, this casting admittedly comes out left field considering that Javier Bardem and Antonio Banderas were considered to be in contention for the role at one point.

Still, the casting was inevitable after Julia Garner was cast as the Silver Surfer last month.

Ineson, Malkovich and Garner join the previously announced first family played by Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Girl), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach ( Ben Grimm/The Thing). Paul Walter Hauser will also appear in the film in an undisclosed role.

Fantastic Four has been written by Avatar scribe Josh Friedman, but Black Widow and Thor: Ragnorak scribe Erik Pearson is expected to polish the script. Matt Shakman (WandaVision) is set to direct. Moon Knight producers Grant Curtis and Nick Pepin are also on board.

Fantastic Four will now hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
