It’s no secret that several new characters will be making their MCU debut in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3; however, if the revelation that Maria Bakalova will be voicing the character of Cosmo the Dog hasn’t made it inherently obvious, plenty of previously introduced characters will appear too.
A few months back, Sylvester Stallone confirmed that he’d be returning to the threequel, but today actor Michael Rosenbaum took to Twitter to also confirm his appearance in the film.
“Anyone notice a certain crystal Ravager show up for a quick second in the new Guardians Trailer?” Rosenbaum tweeted, alongside a still of the character Martinex T’Naga. Rosenbaum appeared briefly as the character, alongside Stallone’s Stakar Ogord and a couple of other noteworthy cameos , at Yondu’s galactic funeral at the tail end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
While Rosenbaum’s post seemed so straight-forward, he seemed to (literally) jump the Gunn because the first official trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was only shown at San Diego Comic-Con last month. So not everyone did get a chance to see the trailer, or his character’s appearance in the trailer.

Now, is there a chance Rosenbaum is trolling fans? Yes, but no one who actually attended SDCC and saw the trailer has come forward to debunk his claim. So it seems like the actor may have just made an honest mistake with his post.
We still don’t have any ETA for the first trailer of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but we’re looking forward to both its release and Rosenbaum’s potential return. Shortly after San Diego Comic-Con, director James Gunn stated that he wanted to make sure the final product was perfect before the public got to see it, so we hope that it doesn’t take too long to iron out the kinks.
Aside from Stallone and Bakalova, the stacked cast of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, and Elizabeth Debicki. Will Poulter (The Maze Runner) will also appear as Adam Warlock, while Chukwudi Iwuji (Peacemaker) will play the High Evolutionary. Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad), and Nico Santos (Superstore) have mystery roles.
Fans can currently see the Guardians in Thor: Love and Thunder. They’ll also star in their own Holiday Special later this year, which will air exclusively on Disney+.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
